Kazakh-Korean business leader Yuriy Tskhay, chairman of Caspian Group, is spearheading the development of Alatau City, one of Kazakhstan’s largest-ever smart city projects. In an interview, Chairman Tskhay confirmed that the project “has officially entered its full-scale implementation phase,” backed by strong government support, approval of the master plan, and a presidential decree elevating it to a national strategic initiative.

Alatau City is envisioned as a Eurasian innovation hub, strategically positioned along major economic corridors. Caspian Group, in cooperation with the Association of Koreans in Kazakhstan, is also planning a 10-hectare K-Park, a Korean-style cultural and business complex within the city.

Designated as a Special Economic Zone, Alatau City will be developed over the next 30 years, integrating smart city technologies, advanced industrial clusters, and research hubs. Chairman Tskhay highlighted that both domestic and international investment is accelerating, noting that ethnic Korean-Kazakh entrepreneur Vyacheslav Kim has pledged $1 billion in support.

Chairman Tskhay emphasized that Kazakhstan’s shift toward a high-tech, digital economy aligns with Korea’s strengths, creating strong opportunities for Korean companies to participate in urban development, AI innovation, and UAM infrastructure within Alatau City.
